Bluestem: The third barbecue street fair set for August 18

“All you can eat” can be four intoxicating words in the right circumstances – and not frequently heard in the vicinity of the upscale Bluestem restaurant in Westport. But on Sunday, August 18, the owners of the restaurant – chefs Colby and Megan Garrelts – will literally close down the stretch of Roanoke Street adjacent to Bluestem at 900 Westport Road to host the third annual barbecue street party featuring plenty of food, liquor, and live entertainment.

“This will be the first year that we’ll have our own smoker,” says Colby Garrelts, who rented them in the past. Garrelts will charge $35 per person for the event (the event is reservation only; tickets should be purchased in advance by calling 816-561-1101) which lasts from 4 to 8 p.m.

The admission ticket includes access to four different food stations, one signature cocktail, and the music of Backfat. Additional beverages will be sold at the bar.
