Best Of is here! Party Time! Excellent!

The Pitch released its annual Best Of Kansas City issue yesterday, the biggest and baddest issue of the year. I hadn’t seen a lot of the closely guarded winners and was pleasantly surprised by some — and depressed to see that even though I’ve lived in this town for twenty-odd years, I hadn’t heard of some of the places listed in the food category. That’s a credit to my co-workers who worked their asses off to sniff out every tip, clue and Indian buffet while I sat on my butt and tested some wines.
Here’s the link to the Web page but really, I highly recommend you find your closest Pitch newsstand and pick up a hard copy of this issue. The first thing you’ll notice is the pull-out’s glossy cover. This puppy is meant to last and to be used all year long. It’s 82 pages of advice and to be honest, I’m still digesting it. Better be quick though as people hoard this edition and a couple of stands I checked on the Plaza were already three-quarters empty.
