Beer Kitchen hosts a ten-beer dinner next Monday

A special dinner with ten domestic beers and several creatively-inspired food courses is just the kind of production that Michael Peterson, the executive chef at Beer Kitchen #1 in Westport, likes to do best. Peterson is still accepting reservations to the dinner on Monday, June 3 for patrons who call 816-389-4180. The dinner – which starts at 6:30 p.m. – is priced at $65 and includes taxes and gratuity. The Beer Kitchen #1 is located at 435 Westport Road.

With ten brews, all from the Lips of Faith series of beers produced by Colorado’s New Belgium Brewery, will be served to participants in different sizes of pours: “The pour sizes will vary depending on the beer and the course,” says Peterson, who will begin the meal with tastings of four beers – Paardebloem, Lost Abbey Brett, Prickley Pear, and Cascara Quad – and a selection of cheeses that complement the brews: California rouge et noir camembert from the Marin French Cheese creamery, Wisconsin-made bandaged aged cheddar, Roth Kase gran queso, and another Wisconsin classic, Sartori’s Bellavitano gold reserve cheese, which has a nutty, buttery flavor that works well with cold beer, says Peterson.
