A St. Joseph tradition is coming to Kansas City. Barbosa’s, arguably the best-known Mexican restaurant in St. Joseph, will be opening a new location at 12th Street and Oak this summer. Barbosa’s Castillo (906 Sylvanie) has been in a classic Victorian mansion in downtown St. Joseph since 1974 – known as much for the cheese enchiladas and guacamole dip as its architecture.

StJoeChannel.com reports that Barbosa Express will be open for lunch Monday through Friday and is targeting a mid-June or early June opening. Who has been to Barbosa’s, and what should Kansas Citians expect?
