Are you still going out on the Plaza?

The Country Club Plaza is perhaps our Times Square (albeit sans the neon-awash T.G.I. Friday’s). Maligned by locals for a lack of authenticity or homegrown options, it’s one of the showpieces of the city. I’ve regularly heard it mistaken for downtown by those who have never been here.

That said, there are hotel bars that know how to make a proper drink and a burger establishment that heralded a new era of gourmet patties in the city. Late Saturday night, shots rang out on the Plaza, and three teenagers were injured. Did that incident in the wake of the flash-mob nonsense of the past year create a tipping point from indifference to actively choosing to stay away? Has your perception of the Plaza changed?
