A local restaurant with an Emmy Award

There haven’t been a lot of Emmy Award-winning TV shows set in the restaurant industry.

True, Cheers (Best Comedy in 1983, 1984, 1989 and 1991) had a Boston saloon as a setting. But the restaurant known to characters on the show, the seafood-serving Melville’s, was forever offscreen, upstairs from the bar.

The rule seems to be: If you want an Emmy, don’t show a restaurant; if you want a restaurant, you won’t see an Emmy. There’s a local exception, though.
