Premiere: Macemouth’s ‘Check Please’ is pure partydeathrock
We got an advance of Macmeouth’s upcoming EP, partydeathrock, all the way back in June and we’ve been blasting it ever since. The release’s four tracks take what the duo did on Dumpsteer Fresh back in 2017 and cranks the amps and energy until the knobs come right off. They released the first single, “B&E,” last week, and will release a song a week leading up to the EP’s official release on Thursday, October 2. We’re excited to premiere the video for Macemouth’s “Check Please” right here and now.
If the EP’s title didn’t clue you in as to what to expect, the partydeathrock aspect is on full display as the duo of Josh Hartranft and Mitchell Hewlett blast through the track in front of a massive stack of amps while a roomful of friends lose their absolute shit. Check it out below.
Says the band of the track, “The song was engineered and mixed by Paul Malinowski at Massive Sound Studio. Mastered by Spencer Hoad. The video was filmed and edited by our friend Sam Sneed with production assistance from Cody Boston. There are songs out there that aim to take you on a journey … this isn’t one of them. It’s quick, aggressive, and singular in its expression. Sometimes you just have one feeling … and that’s okay.”
