McCollum Hall, which stood atop KU’s Daisy Hill for 50 years, falls in seconds

One of the oldest dormitory halls at the University of Kansas was reduced to a pile of rubble on Wednesday morning.
Demolition crews toppled McCullom Hall, which was built in 1965 but outlived its useful life among the row of student-housing buildings atop of what’s called Daisy Hill on the KU campus.
The demolition made for a spectacular sight in Lawrence on Wednesday and probably less-than-spectacular whiffs of concrete dust for those standing north of the fallen dorm hall.
