Pigwich, Local Pig’s sandwich shop, set to open this weekend

At Local Pig, you can see where the sausage is made. Then you can go ahead and ask them to slap some meat between two slices of bread. Pigwich, the new sandwich trailer from the Local Pig (2618 Guinotte Avenue) in the East Bottoms, opens officially tomorrow. Vegetarians are welcome – a falafel sandwich is a daily choice on the menu.
“We’re excited to have food service,” says co-owner Alex Pope. “Since the day we’ve opened, people have been asking for us to do it.”
The sandwich enterprise is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Diners have the option of taking their sandwich to go or sitting down in the backyard patio that seats 40 people. The full menu is after the jump.
