Famous Dave’s has opened in Independence

Famous Dave’s, the fast-casual barbecue spot that doesn’t limit its menu to just one region, has opened in Independence at 17700 E. 39th St. The ribs are St. Louis-style, the brisket is fashioned after Texas pits, and chopped pork is Georgia-inspired.

The furniture and equipment for the Independence restaurant came from the Famous Dave’s in Overland Park at 11741 Metcalf, which closed earlier this month.
