Watching the Royals game? Think blue food and drinks

In 30 minutes or so, the Wednesday-afternoon Royals game — playing the Baltimore Orioles — is starting, but Richard and Theresa Ng, the owners of the Bo Lings restaurants, are still working with their bartender at the Plaza location to come up with an appropriate cocktail-and-sushi combination special to serve to customers who come in to watch the game on TV in the restaurant’s bar.

A few other local restaurants have already decided what they’re planning to serve…

Bleu Burger (320 S.W. Blue Parkway) is offering — during happy hour — $2 well drinks, $2 domestic draws and half-price appetizers.

Julep (4141 Pennsylvania) “We’ve been having fun with blue cocktails for the last week,” says owner Beau Williams. One of the newer creations is the “Revive 85” cocktail, a blend of gin, Lillet, orange curacao, lemon juice, a bit of absinthe and, for color, a dash of blue curacao.

Latin Bistro (6924 North Oak Trafficway). This restaurant’s owner, Chef Tito, is an unabashed Royals fan, so this week he’s having a dinner special on his signature dish, Chicken Yucateca.

Johnny’s Prairie Village (8262 Mission,  Prairie Village) is offering $8.50 domestic pitchers tonight and $16.50 Miller Lite buckets.
