Now you have plans for the weekend

You need plans. Fat City has a recycle bin full of listings. In this post, all our problems are solved.

Kansas City’s new trolley system begins running tonight. The service kicks off with a celebration from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in front of Californos in Westport. The party on the Kansas City Strip continues all weekend with free rides — a nightly pass will usually cost $15 — tonight and tomorrow. The trolleys will run from the Power & Light District to Waldo, stopping at different eating and drinking destinations along the way.

The Farmhouse has happy hour starting today from 4 to 6 p.m., with the unveiling of new cocktails, half-price wines and a small plates menu. If the weather’s nice, the outdoor patio might be open.

Nobody ever says anything about drunk biking, but maybe they should. KC Sprints brings back its competition involving stationary bikes and drinking on Saturday night at Buzzard Beach. The event starts at 5 p.m. as competitors pedal on a 500-meter course simulated with a computer — alternating between sprints and swigs — with plenty of crowd cheers or jeers.
