A month ago I mentioned ODV
— a play on the French phrase Eau de Vie meaning “water of life” — which is an unpretentious wine club. Anyone and everyone can join provided they meet one criteria: that they’re 21 or over.
I went to the ODV meeting a month ago at The Drop. There was a smattering of everyone from 21 to 91 and a good time was had by all. Although I didn’t know a soul at the party (story of my life) I was accepted immediately and more importantly, given copious amounts of wine.
The group’s next event is tonight at the newly reopened Phoenix Jazz Club
downtown. It starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. There are four wines for tasting and, after some delicious and liberal sampling, you get a full
glass of your favorite. There’s also appetizers and music by Brian Ruskin.
Tickets are $21 in advance or $25 cash/check at
the door; to buy them visit ODV’s Web site.
