‘In The Kitchen With Bonnie’ now on the airwaves, web

Kansas City chefs are opening up their kitchens for Bonnie Rabicoff. The former KCPT executive has a new gig hosting a weekly foodie show that airs on KXTR and KMBC.
The first episode of In The Kitchen With Bonnie debuted earlier this month.
“The restaurants are all locally owned and chef driven. And those chefs have a commitment to working with local organic, sustainable farming,” Rabicoff says.
The shows — in which the restaurants pay to be featured — are broken up into segments. In addition to running on the radio, the interviews are also filmed and available on the web the same weekend.
A product is featured each week along with a chat with a chef. Rabicoff and the chef then go into the kitchen to prepare a signature dish and talk about plating that dish. After a wine or beer pairing is suggested, a local celebrity tastes the entree. Each episode ends with the recipe.
“This isn’t just about cooking, it’s also about developing a relationship with the butcher or fishmonger to make us better consumers before we cook,” Rabicoff says.
