Bartenders and bacon lovers compete this weekend

Fierce competition comes to the Uptown Theater on Sunday night with the Greater Kansas City Bartending Competition. The city’s best compete on the stage for the title of Kansas City’s best bartender and $1,000. Chris Conaster (the winner in 2008, third in 2009) from Justus Drugstore and Jennifer Tosatto (third in 2008) of the Firefly Lounge have to be considered strong contenders for the competition that combines drink knowledge with a mixologist’s ability to create an original cocktail. 

The audience can vote via text message and gets to sample all of the finalists’ drinks. SodaVie, Original Juan, Blanc Burgers + Bottles, R Bar, The Drop and Grunauer will all be at the event. The night starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15, that includes one drink and light appetizers.
