KC Meesha has a complicated blog entry about cooking apple-based “sharlotka.” Both the sharlotka and the entry end up looking good. (Kansas City With a Russian Accent)

Two Frito-Lay trucks collide head-on on a rural highway in South Carolina. For some reason this really reminds me of those commercials for Doritos and Cheez-Its I saw as a kid, when a food maker would release a new flavor that really was just two old flavors combined (ala zesty ranch) and so the commercial would show a scenario like two Doritos’ trucks crashing and creating a new flavor. I really hope that’s what happened here. (UPI)
