The five things you should know about cooking a turkey

At this time last year, I was staring at an 18-pound Butterball in a Coleman cooler on my porch and wondering what exactly I was thinking when I offered to cook the turkey for Thanksgiving at my in-laws’.

In a few days, you may find yourself facing off with Tom or Teresa Turkey, and I want you to get the best of the pale-skinned beast. As such, I’d like to tell you the five bits of advice for selecting and cooking a turkey that I wish someone had told me before I wrestled that bird inside my oven.
