A restaurant is not our living room

We are more informal as a society. I can live with that. But what I can’t abide is when my fellow diners choose to treat a restaurant booth as an extension of their living room couch.

I don’t need a peek at the inner you. I need a little bit of formality, right about the level of a dinner with first cousins. You don’t need to be perfect, but you’ve got to make an attempt. As such, some dos and don’ts follow with the understanding that this post signals that I’m officially an 85-year-old man.
