Maine lobster and jumbo shrimp platter |
A complimentary cheesy biscuit for Fat City commenter smh for correctly answering this week’s Where Am I Eating? question. That’s right, it was Red Lobster, the seafood chain restaurant that must be doing something right, because the Metcalf Avenue location is one of the busiest restaurants in the metro — day or night. Just ask anyone who has waited 40 minutes for a table in that unbearably crowded foyer.
As we reported last year, Red Lobster is a guilty pleasure for a lot of diners. It’s considered a lowbrow casual dining chain because of the price point and the ambiance. I mean, The Bristol is isn’t. But at the risk of starting a food riot here, I prefer the light, savory biscuits at Red Lobster to those heavy, sugary, crumbly drops of cement passing themselves off as “biscuits” at The Bristol (I ate one two days ago and they’re as dreadful as ever).
