Hey, servers: outsource yourselves!

An editorial in today’s New York Times asks: “Are there jobs that can’t be outsourced?”
Well, yes: service jobs, like cooks, waiters, waitresses and bartenders. I mean, I suppose Applebee’s could arrange to have a line cook in New Delhi prepare provolone-stuffed meatballs with fettuccine for a customer in Lee’s Summit, but that customer might have a long wait.
But then, while trolling the Internet, I discovered that there are many restaurants outside the United States advertising for American servers (like this one-month contract for a venue in Greece). It’s reverse outsourcing!
