Taste different Indian cuisines Saturday at the Festival of Colors

Once all the hoopla surrounding St. Patrick’s Day settles down, it’s time to celebrate other ethnic communities in the metro. Saturday’s Holi festivities, celebrating the Indian Festival of Colors, will feature food, music and color. Literally. People toss colored powder on each other, says Chandra Venkat, the spokesman for the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Kansas City, which hosts the festival on March 19 at 6330 Lackman Road in Shawnee.
