Is there a ‘Kansas City skinny’ ?

Food and eating preferences are certainly relative. The best cheese steak in Kansas City could seem like the best thing you’ve ever eaten, until you actually make it to Philadelphia. A Twinkie isn’t great, until zombies have taken over the world. Happy in Bag has introduced an interesting concept on his blog — the idea that he has graduated from “Kansas City skinny” to “just plain fat” after a diet of beer and burritos.

Could skinny here be a relative term? Missouri is the 11th fattest state in the union. Is there a “Kansas City skinny,” and if so, how would you define it?
