The tomato aisle is getting mighty crowded at Farmers Markets. We’re still in the heart of heirloom tomato season, and local growers have a bevy of varieties. But if you’ve never tried a given breed, it can be hard to know what to like.

The third annual Kansas City Tomato Tasting solves that problem. The free event is Saturday, August 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Roe Park (10400 Roe, Overland Park).
