Opening Soon: Cafe Ginseng & More
There’s a new restaurant opening soon on 39th Street: Cafe Ginseng & More will officially open for business in the storefront space previously occupied by Mama’s on 39th Street and the short-lived Thai Garden restaurants. I stopped in last night, and the restaurant’s owner, Mia Jamison — she actually owns the entire shopping center at the corner of 39th and Bell, which is called, interestingly enough, Mia’s Plaza — was inside, overseeing the renovation of the long-vacant space.
I was most interested in finding out what the “& More” part of the name was going to mean. And was the restaurant going to offer Asian cuisine? After all, ginseng root is best-known as an Asian medicinal herb. But, no. Jamison says when her new diner opens in a few weeks, it will be serving American cuisine at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
