Plaza restaurants: Seasons 52 opening sooner, Bo Lings later

Richard Ng, the co-owner (with his wife, Theresa) of the Bo Lings mini empire of Chinese restaurants, says the planned move from his 25-year location in the Board of Trade building at 4800 Main to his new quarters, across Brush Creek in the Skelly Building, won’t be happening this year after all.
“Things are taking a little longer than we anticipated,” says Ng, who operates six Bo Lings restaurants in the metro. “We’re probably not going to open the new location until Chinese New Year, 2012.”
Not far from the Skelly Building, outside the Spanish-style structure at 340 Ward Parkway, an unveiling of sorts took place today: Jeff Carcara, the senior director of operations for the Seasons 52 restaurants (a division of the Florida-based Darden Restaurants, owner of the Red Lobster and Olive Garden chains), pulled a shiny blue cloth off a blowup of an artist’s rendering. It’s a picture of the building looking very much as it did in the heyday of its first tenant, the Woolf Brothers department store. A larger reproduction of the work, temporarily covered with white paper, was also revealed. This one is for Plaza gawkers to gaze upon until the restaurant opens. Unlike Bo Lings, this venue is pushing up its opening date.
