Are you relying on physical or virtual cookbooks more these days?
The counter across from my oven is the catchall counter in the kitchen. The cat’s food bowl sits next to a series of nesting mixing bowls, and kitchen gadgets often accumulate until either my wife or I decide that we need to be cleaner, more organized people. This is usually determined by the aforementioned cat calculatingly knocking off the most fragile item in an effort to ransom more food out of her human owners.
It was during a recent cleaning session that I realized I’ve been employing nearly every possible method of cookbook. Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything sits next to a handful of crumpled recipes from Epicurious, and the only spotless place on the counter is reserved for the iPad (which I’ve been using more for cooking than I expected). I’m curious about your kitchens. Are you opting for paperless recipes or still working off a printout or book?
