Jack Stack selected by Forbes writer as part of ’10 Most Memorable Meals of 2011′

  • Jack Stack gets some love on the national level.

Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue found itself on an exclusive list last week in a Forbes Magazine piece. Writer Larry Olmsted (he writes a weekly food column for USA Today called Great American Bites) named his meal at Jack Stack one of his top-10 memorable meals of 2011:

Jack Stack is not the best barbecue I have had, and it is not the best in Kansas City (that honor goes to Oklahoma Joe’s). It is one of the best barbecue dining experiences I have ever had, the only successful attempt I’ve seen to merge traditional slow smoked, high quality barbecue with a relatively upscale restaurant aesthetic (sorry Blue Smoke).

While this article might not be immortalized in a plaque on Jack Stack’s wall, it’s a fairly accurate assessment of the dining experience at the only barbecue joint on the Plaza.
