How do we fix the dining situation at KCI?

  • If not more dining, how about more vending?

Many of you will fly through Kansas City International Airport in the coming weeks or are just back from the terminals that are as polarizing as the Kansas City Chiefs. And just like stadium food, the odds of you being blown away by something you eat at KCI are not particularly high.

This is not Los Angeles International Airport. We’re not getting a restaurant concept from an Iron Chef. There are some serious constraints to developing viable dining options — not a particularly high volume of travelers spread out among three terminals, chief among them. My latest suggestion? High-end vending machines — the food equivalent of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines that are in Goodcents around town (Charles Ferruzza wrote about them back in September). All reasonable suggestions will be accepted in this space. Let’s fix this thing in the comments section below.
