Aaron Confessori opens The Boot tonight
Restaurateur Aaron Confessori has hosted a couple “friends and family” evenings in his new Italian restaurant, The Boot, over the past few days, but the official opening night for the long, narrow storefront venue at 415 Westport Road is tonight. Confessori first announced the restaurant last fall, shortly before opening his Street Fare food truck.
This space has been occupied by several unsuccessful restaurant operations over the past couple of decades (most recently The Art of Pizza, but other tenants have included Papa Keno’s, and the Original Boston Cheesesteak Company; back in the 1980s, it was restaurateur/novelist Lou Jane Temple’s vintage clothing shop, November Pink).
The Boot is located directly next door to Confessori’s Gallic-inspired Westport Cafe & Bar. The Boot features a more simple, rustic design with reclaimed barn wood, the building’s original sleek red oak flooring (which Aaron found hidden under ugly modern tiles) and a color palette of varying shades of Chianti red. The menu is relatively simple and straightforward as well.
