Natural Grocers opens today in Overland Park

Get ready to fill those reusable bags. Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage (9108 Metcalf) opened this morning in Overland Park.

As Fat City reported back in January: Natural Grocers is located in a neighboring shopping center to the Whole Foods Market (7401 West 91st Street). While both stores focus on organic produce, vitamins, supplements, and grass-fed beef, Natural Grocers doesn’t stock prepared foods and is known for catering to those with specialty diets such as vegan or gluten-free.

The Colorado-based chain opened its first area location in Lawrence last November. The Overland Park store will be open from 8:56 a.m. to 8:04 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:56 a.m. to 6:06 p.m. Sunday.

“It’s mostly a reminder that we need to offer customer service – that we’ll be open on a customer’s way to work when they need to get in and that we’ll make sure to keep the doors open if they are coming at the end of the night,” said Renee, the store’s manager.
