It’s Free Donut Day at LaMar’s Donuts

All food holidays are not created equally. Case in point is National Donut Day. LaMar’s Donuts is celebrating the holiday today, June 1, with a free regular donut for everyone who walks in the door (bars, Bizmarks, fritters and non-holed donuts are excluded).

The tradition, as a release from LaMar’s explains it, dates back to 1917, when “women Salvation Army volunteers known as ‘Lassies’ made donuts for soldiers on the front lines of World War I.” Here’s a list of local LaMar’s. Happy eating.
