Diddy-Dirty Money is doing it at the Midland in May

Diddy did it: Sean “Diddy” Combs is bringing his two ladies, Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper, to KC. (The trio is called Diddy-Dirty Money.) They’ll be at the Midland on Saturday, May 14. The most interesting part of Diddy Dirty Money isn’t the producer and rapper himself, though. Harper — better known simply as Kalenna — penned hits for Jill…

Hanna, McClure and d’Ablaing to battle in “Food Fight” on March 28

Not all food fights are created equally. The school lunchroom tossing of square pizzas can’t hold a candle to the second annual “Food Fight” benefit for the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired. Chefs Howard Hanna (The Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange), Charles d’Ablaing (Webster House) and John McClure (Starker’s Restaurant) will take the stage on Monday, March 28, at…

CES Cru drops a video for ‘DYT’; thanks girls for the ‘P-I-E’

The legendary motorcycle maker and Kansas City labor unions have announced that they reached an agreement. Yeah, job cuts are coming. According to The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal (Harley’s hometown paper), the new deal will ax…

Jack Stack is the new tailgate caterer of the Royals

The food in the parking lot can be just as important, if not more so, than what’s going on in the stadium. And a press announcement from the Kansas City Royals suggests that the culinary outlook for your little patch of pavement is a lot more rosy this season. The Royals have named Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue the official tailgate…

Roller derby ain’t just for the ladies anymore

Roller derby has long been a staple of the Kansas City underground. And why not? Watching women in tight, sparkly hot pants shove each other while moving at high speed is all kinds of awesome. But now, roller derby isn’t just a women’s sport any longer. The Cowtown Butchers, Kansas City’s newest roller-derby team, is going to battle it out…
