Sensa: the newest weight-loss come-on

Have you heard? There’s a little white powder that you can buy to help you lose weight instantly. No… Not that white powder. It’s called Sensa. The makers of the product claim that it will “enhance foods’ smell,” causing your body to get the “I feel full” sensation sooner. The packets contain “Maltodextrin, Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Natural and Artificial Flavors.”…

Missourians still arguing over fake pot. Yawn

At first the synthetic marijuana thing was unique and interesting, like Michael Cera. But now I’m sick of hearing the same routine about it over and over, and it’s become dull and predictable, like Michael Cera. Because in Brookfield kids are getting high and you probably already know how this ends. Categories: News Tags: Bocomo Dew, Brookfield

With great fatness comes a great sense of smell

If you can smell the Folger’s plant when you’re not downtown or Gates Barbecue as you zoom by State Line on 435, then you might want to check the scale. The BBC reports that a new study from researchers at the University of Portsmouth suggests that overweight people have “a far heightened sense of smell,” as compared to skinny people….

Todd Haley apologizes to Denver Broncos coach for ‘The Snub’

Kansas City coach Todd Haley just had to go and ruin the heat he put on the Chiefs-Broncos rivalry. Haley (halfheartedly) apologized yesterday for snubbing Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels during the post-game handshake after the Chiefs got a 49-29 whoopin’. “The Snub” was a classless move for sure — and as several people pointed out, a hypocritical one —…

Weekend rocks like it’s, well, the weekend

Weekend The Replay November 15, 2010 The unfortunately-named San Francisco trio, Weekend, played to an unfortunate crowd last night. It was cold, it was November, it was a Monday night, it was the Replay. Yet the band, justly met with a great deal of acclaim for their awesome debut LP, Sports, played like the house was full. It is rare…

Alligator found in Kansas City, Kansas, by man with coolest name ever

JaBond Warrior told KMBC Channel 9 reporter Michele Rooney that he thought he’d seen everything in his neighborhood. “It was shocking to me, though, because we have had burned-up cars, trash, the occasional bodies sometimes around in here, but an alligator?” Warrior said. “That took the cake. I was like, ‘Oh no, we’ve had everything dumped on our street now.’”…

Tim and Eric celebrate Chrimbus at the Midland

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim opened their Chrimbus Spectacular show last night at the Midland by performing a song about Chrimbus. Dressed in tight, elaborate, poorly fitting blue-and-yellow jumpsuits with silver sparkling vests, they danced around the stage, asking everyone to keep their bushes “trim and wet.” It was probably the least weird performance of the night. Jay & Silent Bob age in front of you at the Midland this May

“Every saga has its middle age…and this is what happens when Jay and Silent Bob get old.” So begins every episode of director Kevin Smith’s podcast with his Clerks cohort, Jason Mewes, unsurprisingly entitled “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old.” Ostensibly, the podcast began as a way to tell the story of Smith and Mewes’ time together. Kansas City Chiefs fans left car exhaust and little else in St. Joseph

The Kansas City Chiefs are on a bummer streak. In between losses to AFC West rivals Oakland and Denver comes word from St. Joseph that hosting Chiefs’ training camp did not light up area cash registers. The Chiefs trained at Missouri Western State University after spending 19 summers in western Wisconsin. The state of Missouri lured away the franchise from…

It looks like your Kansas City Wizards gear might soon be collector’s items.  Nothing is official, but the club is expected to make a major announcement Wednesday night at 5:30 in the Power & Light District. That has soccer fans and bloggers whipped into a frenzy anticipating what the team will reveal. Categories: News Tags: Kansas City Wizards, Sporting KC

Enrique can be your hero at Jingle Jam this year

Mix 93.3 is hosting its annual Jingle Jam at the Sprint Center this year. Enrique Iglesias will gyrate, Travie McCoy will play “Billionaire” and very obviously avoid the word “fuck,” Emily Osment (who?) will do something vaguely associated with Miley Cyrus and the Disney Channel, and Cody Simpson will make South Valley Junior High in Liberty remember why they minded their…
