Zagat ratings are now free with a Google+ registration

The place that gave diners a place to yelp, before there was a Yelp, is now free. Zagat, the erstwhile print dining guide turned multimedia dinner-recommendation service, is free if you’re willing to register for Google+ (also free).

Zagat was acquired by Google in September 2011 – a countermove to the rising popularity of Yelp (which the iPhone’s Siri application currently mines for its restaurant recommendations).
