Zack Greinke in Empire State of Mind? The Yankees aren’t buying it

The Zack Greinke trade talk changes by the day. Yesterday, Yahoo’s Jeff Passan reported that the Royals ace would be willing to waive his no-trade clause that prevents Kansas City from trading him to big-market teams like the New York Yankees.  

Citing a source close to the right-hander, Passan reported that Greinke “would happily pitch anywhere that would provide a winning team.”

“I wouldn’t put it past him to go to New York,” the source told Yahoo. “I don’t think he’d rule out anybody. He says he likes New York. Especially because they’re winners. He wants to go to a team that wins.”
