Zachary Bowers named as a suspect in the homicide of David Bowers (updated)

Update II (1:03 p.m. June 10): Zachary A. Bowers
has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of his father, David A. Bowers. The probable cause statement says that in a phone conversation with police, Zachary Bowers claimed his father made him kill him. “Dad threw the gun in my hand and told me to pull the trigger. I pulled the trigger and shot him.”

Zachary Bowers’ brother claimed that Zachary was drinking vodka and gets violent when he drinks.

Update I (11:29 a.m. June 10): Zachary A. Bowers, the 22-year-old man accused of killing his father, David A. Bowers, is in police custody. Independence police traced him to the Highland Manor Mobile Home Park and arrested him yesterday.
