Would-be Kansas abortion provider Mila Means profiled in The New York Times

Over the weekend, The New York Times did an interesting profile of Mila Means, the Kansas doctor who wants to provide abortions in Wichita. She’s also the doctor who received this warning from an anti-abortion activist: “You
will be checking under your car everyday-because maybe today is the day
someone places an explosive under it.”
The Times story gives a few details on Means. Here’s what we learned:
- She’s doing it as much to provide the constitutionally protected medical procedure as she is for the money. She looked at her books and figured that she was “the poorest doctor in the state” with bounced checks and credit-card companies beating down her door.
