Would-be bank robber shot in the face in Trimble

  • Trimble is about 20 miles north of Kansas City.

The man likely had a different plan in mind when he was buzzed into the First Security Bank in Trimble, Missouri, Friday afternoon. After allegedly pulling out a gun and demanding cash, Fox 4 reports that the would-be robber was apparently shot in the face by either a customer or employee (#armedcivilian according to the NRA) in the bank.

Now shot, the man exited the building and led police on a high-speed pursuit that ended on Interstate 435 with the cops placing four spike strips in the road. The suspect was taken to a Kansas City hospital for treatment, where he is in stable condition. And while bank robberies are not common for the small Missouri town, what happened inside the bank didn’t come as a surprise to one resident.

“There’s a lot of people who carry guns here in Trimble,” Levi Murphy told Fox 4. “So he could have been shot by anybody.”
