Would you trade the Royals for a .500 NBA team? (poll)

By Matt Moore
Well, here we are again. On the verge of a series win over Tampa Bay, on the
road, the Royals manage to find a way to lose another Greinke start, despite
him giving them a four hit, one run complete game.
The Royals aren’t in last place, but with a four game series against their
fellow bottom-dweller the Chicago White Sox, the sludge of the bottom of the barrel is lapping at their uniforms. They just reassigned
franchise-savior-of-long-ago-that-never-was Alex Gordon to Triple A, again,
and a trade seems a foregone conclusion at this point. They operate at a
fixed salary and never seem to improve, occasionally bringing in false hope
of actual investment like the signing of Rick Ankiel.
The franchise, as it has been for two decades, is in ruins. A joke,
perpetually mired in not just mediocrity but outright failure in a historic
sense so dour it’s enough to make even the most devoted fan wish for
something else, or pray that August and the 4-12 Chiefs return.
So I come to you, Kansas City, with this question. If you could, would you
trade this team for a franchise in another sport that was even halfway
decent? Would you trade the Royals for a .500 NBA team?
