Wordy Woman

As the title of her one-woman show In Conclusive Woman
implies, Julie Rae Pratt is, like most, a whole host of things at once
— not only friend, lover, sister and mother, but also, in her
words, sexual survivor, momma’s child, fat chick, post-40s party girl
and beloved teacher. Tonight, at the new Fishtank Performance Studio
(1715 Wyandotte), she’ll let out the writer and performer as she gives
Kansas City a last look at her 2006 Fringe Fest hit — which is
both comic and wrenching — before it moves to Ryan Repertory
Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. Expect personal stories, a couple of
tragedies, and the daring to exploit one’s own life to make a point
about things. She’ll also take on that teacher role, this time
presiding over the workshop “What Do You Have to Say?” (It’s also at
Fishtank.) In Conclusive Woman begins at 8 p.m.; the workshop
starts at 1 p.m. For ticket information, see inconclusivewoman.com.
