Woman allegedly prostituted her 5-year-old daughter for booze, cigs

This is out of Wichita and fucked up. A 48-year-old Wichita woman is on trial this week for allegedly prostituting her 5-year-old daughter for booze and smokes.

The woman, who isn’t being named to protect the identity of her daughter, and 51-year-old Reggie Stafford are “charged with multiple counts of rape, sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child,” Wichita Eagle reports. The woman denies the charges but admits having a drinking problem.

The Eagle‘s Ron Sylvester is tweeting the trial, and his 140-character comments give more insight than the story on the Eagle‘s site. Sylvester tweets:

Background: two grown sisters had said that their mother took them to have sex with Stafford when they were preteens or early teens.
But in January the judge ruled that evidence was inadmissible. So the jurors will not hear about that.
The 6-year-old said he mother and Reggie touched her “potty.”
[SRS social worker Melissa] Gardner: The girl said her mother forced her to perform oral sex on Reggie.
Gardner: The girl also said she’d drank whiskey five different times.
Gardner: The girl said Reggie gave her mom a “nasty” movie with people and animals.
Gardner: The girl said, “I cried and screamed and no one did anything.” That’s when the girl told her brother what had happened.
