Win tickets to the Original Wailers at the Voodoo Lounge, March 26

As a band name, “Wailers” gets a bit confusing. There’s the Wailers from the Northwest United States back in the ’60s, known for their songs “Tall Cool One” and “Out of Our Tree.” Then there’s the Wailers, which was the band that Bob Marley formed with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, which now tours featuring Bunny Wailer. From there, you get Bob Marley & the Wailers, which is the band that Junior Marvin and Al Anderson played with.

Confused? I’m not surprised. But what you ought to know is that Marvin and Anderson are now touring as the Original Wailers, which while being a slight misnomer considering the “original” Wailers was the band formed with Tosh and Wailer, is probably more accurately applied to them than the bunch of hired guns with which Bunny Wailer is now touring. Two original members is greater than one, essentially.

It’s this band, with Marvin and Anderson that plays the Voodoo Lounge on Friday, March 26, and to which we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away.
