Will Ferrell’s Waterskiing Co-Star

Seen a video of a waterskiing squirrel on YouTube? It was probably Twiggy — or one of the various gray squirrels that have performed under that brand in heated pools around the country and in the movies Dodgeball and Anchorman. The next stop for Twiggy tricks is the Kansas City Boat and Sportshow, which turns Bartle Hall (301 West 13th Street) into an indoor version of an outdoor-recreation wonderland, complete with a catch-and-release trout pond. Gawk at massive motorboats and RVs that can make camping trips more plush than a stay at a three-star hotel. Sure, you can experience a lot of this stuff — plus a startling taxidermy exhibition — on your average trip to Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shop. But in addition to seminars (including a boat class for women) and product samples, there’s the wing-eating contest, sponsored by Hooters and WHB 810, at 5:30 p.m. Friday. What could be more Middle American? Admission is $9 (free for kids 15 and younger). Doors are open 2 to 9 p.m. today, noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
