Who should the Kansas City Chiefs take with the No. 1 overall pick?

  • The Chiefs certainly didn’t have Luck this year.

The season didn’t just limp to a close Sunday in Denver. It ended as it began with the boys in red on the wrong side of a blowout. And while helping the Broncos claim the number one seed in the AFC (it’s hard not to think about what Peyton Manning would have done in a Chiefs’ uniform), the Chiefs secured the first overall pick in the draft (Jacksonville did its best by losing, courtesy of an NFL record four returns [two interceptions, two punts] for touchdowns by the Tennessee Titans). In 2012, the Indianapolis Colts took Andrew Luck. A year earlier it was Cam Newton for the Carolina Panthers. The Rams grabbed Sam Bradford in 2010, and the Detroit Lions picked Matthew Stafford in 2009. The past four years have seen a quarterback at the head of the draft, and the Chiefs certainly need a new helmet under center.

There are a lot of issues with the 2-14 team and a lot of uncertainties. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs will fire head coach Romeo Crennel but keep general manager Scott Pioli. But one thing is certain. The Kansas City Chiefs have earned the number one overall draft pick. So who do you want?
