Where to eat and drink on Memorial Day

Novel (1927 McGee Street) is hosting its annual Memorial Day party, featuring a buffet spread and bottomless wine, beer, and batch cocktails. On the menu: pastrami burnt ends, quinoa tabbouleh, loaded potato skins, oyster on the half shell, smoked sausage, barbecue ribs, strawberry rhubarb crisp, caesar salad, and much more. Tickets are $37 apiece (not including fees), and are available via Eventbrite.
All of the Summit Restaurant Group spots — Boru Ramen (500 West 75th Street), Summit Grill (Northland, Waldo, Lee’s Summit), and Third Street Social (123 Southeast 3rd Street) — are hosting a special day of brunch, starting at 10 a.m. and running until 2 p.m.
Tavernonna (106 West 12th Street) is offering a buy-one, get-one-free deal on all of its pasta dishes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Also offering a buy-one, get-one deal is LaMar’s Donuts at 9926 Holmes Road.
