West Virginia officially invited to the Big 12

CBS Sports is reporting that West Virginia has been formally invited to join the Big 12. So that brings the conference to 11 institutions … until the SEC can put up all of these press releases on its website.

Kansas basketball coach Bill Self said in a statement: “I think West Virginia is a great addition (to the Big 12 Conference). Obviously, they bring a national name in multiple sports. And for me selfishly, I like the fact that Coach (Bob) Huggins is back in the league. I think he’ll definitely add some interest to our conference, which will be nothing but good for us.”
