Wendell Everage found shot to death after police receive reports of a prowler; 70 homicides in KCMO

  • Reports of a prowler led police to the body of the city’s latest homicide victim.

Kansas City, Missouri’s 70th homicide of 2011 occurred on the city’s south side this morning.

Police received a call about a prowler in the 7900 block of East 100th Street around 1:05 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 27-year-old Wendell Everage’s body in the backyard of a home. Everage was dead from a gunshot wound.
