Watch Tim Harvey’s IFCKC One Night Stand film (video)

In this week’s issue of The Pitch (in boxes now!), I followed around a team of filmmakers for the Kansas City Independent Filmmakers Coalition’s 11th annual One Night Stand film festival held last Saturday. Teams had 10 hours to shoot and edit a five-minute film and get it to the Screenland Armour for a screening and an awards presentation.
Director Tim Harvey and his team, the Hellions, graciously allowed me to pester them with countless questions — “What’s a frame rate? Do ALL filmmakers smoke as much as you guys?” — and somehow managed to not scream at me or throw me off the set after the first three exhausting, sweaty hours. At one point, photographer Sabrina Staires climbed on top of a sink to shoot in a hot bathroom packed with the cast and crew, and nobody complained. Tim and the Hellions truly deserve credit for keeping their cool. And now, we have the final product of the day’s labor. Watch after the jump.
