Update: Fox 4 interviewed a man who claims that refusing to give a DNA sample to police may have cost him his job at a Verizon store.
Reggie Smith told Fox 4’s Tess Koppelman that a customer thought he looked like the sketch of the Waldo rapist. Smith said he agreed to talk with police but wouldn’t give a DNA sample. Why?
“I’m a little leery of giving my DNA for something I haven’t done and putting it in the system for them to use whenever they want to use it,” Smith said.
Smith claimed Verizon (and the company he’s working for, Flextronics) put him on paid leave for a week, but have since placed him on indefinite unpaid administrative leave.
