Voter Specials
As Brick owner Shari Parr says, “We don’t wanna just sit and chew our fingernails” tonight. So she has booked a band that’s sure to soothe the nerves of anxious voters: Solid Gold Easy. Expect vintage licks and attire from the local classic-rock cover band. The first set of songs starts around 9, and the bar TVs will be on the right channels for poll watching. The $5 cover includes free apple or pecan pie — “for voters,” Parr says. The other edible special: a Chicago-style hot-dog bar. Mmm hmm. The Brick is at 1727 McGee. Anyone sporting an “I Voted” sticker gets a complimentary treat at McCoy’s Public House (4057 Pennsylvania, 816-960-0866), The Foundry (424 Westport Road, 816-960-0866) and One80 (435 Westport Road, 816-389-4180). Lazlo from KRBZ 96.5 (the Buzz) lords over the stage at McCoy’s, offering his political insights as the poll results roll in.
